Returning to Work — Frequently Asked Questions

No. You can self‑refer, or your case manager or employer can refer you. I can also work alongside your GP or other health professionals if needed. The first step is a free 15‑minute phone consultation where we can talk about your situation and see if this service is a good fit.

After the consultation, I do a home‑based assessment to understand your abilities, work demands, fatigue levels and what matters most to you. We then agree goals and build a phased return plan with any necessary reasonable adjustments.

Under the Equality Act 2010, employers are legally required to consider adjustments to help you return to work. That might include flexible hours, changes in your role, rest breaks, support tools, or on‑the‑job coaching. I’ll help you identify what you need and work with your employer or HR to make it happen.

Yes. Besides physical stamina, we focus on things like memory, decision‑making, and coping with stress. Returning to work isn’t just about tasks — it's about confidence, clarity and feeling ready in mind as well as body.

It depends on your situation. Some people need only a few supportive sessions. Others benefit from ongoing work over weeks or months. We’ll plan together so that the support fits your recovery, fatigue, life and work goals.
